This film uses many close-ups to isolate the struggle for the ball from the larger context of the team game. We can thus see the individual effort made by players who are trying to win or keep possession of the ball. It can also be seen how emotions between individual players of the competing teams run high. We come away with the impression that football is also a martial art.
